One Response to Public Meeting on the Niles Canyon Safety Improvement Project

  1. Roy Heaivilin says:

The justification of the Niles Canyon Project(s) is based on false logic. Trying to engineer a safety solution to an enforcement problem. Speeding, and DUI will still happen. The collateral damage in absence of common sense and good procedure is the loss of scenic beauty, habitat, and usefulness of the road and without erosion protection our railroad After several ‘informational” Town meetings where Caltrans Dist. 4 director Sartipi, heard but did not listen to hundreds of residents. Sartipi is determined to bull doze over public outrage and protests to force the misguided project(s) through without compromise. Ultimately, Catrans is accountable only unto itself at our expense!

The regional directors, however, are a appointed by the Governor. Call or email the governor and Request NEW a District 4 director that will follow the LAW, modify the hwy 84 projects to exclude the controversial issues, and do a proper Environmental Impact Report for the collective projects as a whole. Email message to the Governor at http://gov.ca.gov/m_contact.php or write/ call/ Fax.
