Dumbarton Rail Corridor (DRC) Project Meeting, April 13th, 2011

The Dumbarton Rail Corridor (DRC) Project, which has been around since before 2000 or so continues to be pursued by advocates who see it as a meaningful transit project. Many others see it as a project looking for a reason. No matter your point of view the project continues to undergo revision with the objective of convincing folks it is cost effective and needed. If you are interested in learning the current thinking on the DRC Alternative Study Report of March 2011 it, along with associated materials is posted at: http://www.nilesunity.com/?section=758

The next meeting of the DRC Citizen’s Advisory Panel is scheduled for Wednesday 13 April at 7:00 pm at the George M Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center, 6800 Mowry Ave, Newark. The public is welcome.

In addition to the updated information on the DRC new information on the status of the Capitol Corridor’s continuing business plan to enhance commuter rail service between Oakland and San Jose has been included at http://www.nilesunity.com/?section=capitalcorridor

If that is not enough Rail related information please check out the updated information on the Altamont Corridor Project (ACP) (Part of High Speed Rail). The updated information on how the ACP might be brought through the Altamont pass and into Fremont/Union City is located on the Capitol Corridor link above.
